Boarding Pass Workshop

I created this collage workshop during my collaboration with Shakespeare’s Globe, to involve their team (employees and volunteers) in creating art: this was an invitation for them to join as active participants in the art installation, Boarding Pass, I designed for the Globe. 

The workshop started by collective short readings reflecting on travelling and crossing borders, then using collage as a medium, recycled materials and coloured papers, everyone created handmade and unique pieces and signed them. We also discussed a ‘Boarding Pass Manifesto’ – a space for people to articulate the thinking and reflections that came up during the process of creating.

The final boarding passes were colourful, unique, simple, and made with love. We placed all of them next to the installation, so visitors were able to pick one, write their reflections on it and add it to the symbolic barrier made of wires that I had placed, in between the outdoor and indoor theatres there.
