Internal Landscapes - Public Programme
We are grateful for the support of Arts Council England whose award of a project grant allowed us to expand the reach of our work, engage with more residents and offer a new engagement programme (15 workshops) in September – February.
To share the project and the learning with new audience, we designed a new series of curated conversation and delivered them at local community libraries: Corbett, Crofton Park, Manor House, and Halcyon Books.
A Learning Lab, produced in partnership with and led by Counterpoints Arts, (Horniman Pavilion – 1 December 2022) offered a space to deepen reflections, share learning and create new knowledge with Council members, the GLA team, fellow creatives and art and culture institutions.
With collaborators from Lewisham, we empowered newly arrived people in the borough to gain knowledge of the local cultural scene. We designed creative walks to local parks and curated visits to libraries and museums including to the Migration Museum, Tate Modern and Horniman Museum. We delivered a new series of Internal Landscapes workshops supported by the Horniman Museum engagement team.
With Play for Progress team, we designed an outing including a guided visit to the Horniman Museum to share the exhibition with the young people then a workshop at Horniman Library for them to creatively engage with English learning by reflecting on the art pieces.
We organised an exhibition and book launch event at the Horniman Museum Gallery Square to share the outcomes of our project with collaborators, partners and new audience. We shared presentations and enjoyed poetry performances by Bex Gordon and Tyrone Lewis and readings by contributors and participants.
